Psychodermatology Diploma

General information 

This diploma, granted by the European Society for Dermatology and Psychiatry (ESDaP)  offers updated knowledge and develops essential competences to any person interested in psychodermatology. It consists of four modules, ideal for professionals that are interested in becoming psychodermatologists or skin-psychologists/psychiatrists. â€‹â€‹

Structure

The program consists of four modules. Because of the load of work, usually, the participants follow one course a year and we recommend it. However, participants may complete 2 modules successively in the same year.

Evaluation System

The participant will have to complete assignments, some of which will have to be submitted beforehand and others during the course. Some assignments will be assessed by faculty members and others by peers.

Requirements within course

Participants must complete all required assignments in each course. All participants would receive a diploma of participation after finishing each level.  Moreover in order to receive the proper certification, applicants must have to satisfy the following requirements for each level:

Modules 1 and 2

  • ESDaP Congress attendance (held every two years and reduced fees for ESDaP members) 

    • or 2 EADV ESDaP Subspecialty Meeting attendance (day fees) 

    • or 1 EADV Subspecialty (day fee) + 1 APMNA (fees), or national meeting (to be accepted before) 

    • or 1 BMA psychodermatology meeting (fees) + 1 Psychodermatology World Day meeting (small fee for the certificate)

    • or Publication of a scientific paper as a first author (help of 800€ for publication fees in Acta Dermato-Venereologica for ESDaP Member since the past 2 years)


​Modules 3 and 4

  • ESDaP Congress attendance (reduced fees for ESDaP members) or Publication of a scientific paper as a first author (help of 800€ for publication fees in Acta Dermato-Venereologica for ESDaP Members in the past 2 years)

  • Presentation or Poster at one (1) ESDaP Congress (reduced fees for ESDaP Members )

  • Supervision 30 hours (fees)

  • 3 written cases or 2 + 1 publication

Who Can Apply

Dermatologists, psychologists or psychiatrists working with patients who suffer from skin diseases. Other practitioners could be accepted on CV,  if they are or would be involved in Psychodermatology.

Requirements for application

•   All participants are required to actively participate.

• Adequate equipment: computer, camera, microphone are expected. (Phones and tables are not adequate devices for students to engage with the course)

•  Stable internet connection for video conferencing.

•    Quiet and professional environment is expected.

•    Students are required to have their cameras turned on unless otherwise instructed.

•    Basic level of computer literacy to navigate the website and prepare PowerPoints.

•    Proficiency level in the English language.

•   This course contains mandatory homework assignments and quizzes.
